CD-ROM Installation

The CD-ROM is supplied with all the necessary updates to your Windows operating system. You can install by double clicking on Setup.

You may need to upgrade DirectX. The installation for this is provided in the DirectX directory on the CD-ROM.

If your system is up to date then simple double-click on the Artist.msi file and follow the instructions.

Internet Installation

Artist can be downloaded from our web-site at,

http://www.showcad.com/download/artist.shtml

You will find details on the current release and any Artist related downloads.

If your system is up to date then simple double-click on the Artist.msi file and follow the instructions.

Other Updates

If you are not running Windows XP you may need to download Windows Installer in order to install Artist.

You may also need to upgrade to DirectX 9.x. See DirectX.

Multi-User Install

If you computer has more than one user account you should select Install for Everyone during the setup process. There are other issues concerning this topic which you should refer to in Artist Help/Procedures/Multi-User.

To run Artist

Go to the Start menu and select Artist. Running Artist for the first time will load an example workspace (example.wsp). You can use this example to familiarize yourself with the software's features.
