Elektra LED Bar

Hello,
I'm having issues creating a template for the Elektra LED Bar. I have the lights installed already but none the the LED templates control them correctly. I have been through the manual trying to create a template but always get hung up somehow. I was given this information (see attached file) about the DMX info for the lights. I have a show tonight and am trying to get this done for tonight but at the very least by Friday. Could anyone help me out and point me in the right direction for future reference?
Thanks,
Michael

Hi. Work at a new club with Show Cad installed. We have a basic Show Cad system. Operator does sound & light per show. I'm interested in how show cad can work in this environment verses a desk! I will be programming the system. I enjoy the creative side of lighting really and am interested in how easily this translates with the GUI from a beginners point of view.
I'm not sure if this is a guru's spot but hey if it is, I'm in the wrong department. Can you tell me where ladies underwear is please?

Showcad Artist V2.1.13.19, last update?

The only updates to Artist 2 will be bug fixes only. There are no known issues that we are working on at present. However, we will continue to support Artist 2 users. Artist 3 is now in the same state in that there are no major development planned. ShowCAD 2011 is the development working title for the latest developments of our software.

Last update has been some time now, just wondering if we are going to see anymore updates for version 2? I'm working on building a new pc, when it's up and running I will purchase Artist 3. However at home I will be using artist 2 for awhile longer, can't afford to purchase artist 3 for my personal system. edited by IrBuilder on 6/3/2010 edited by IrBuilder on 6/3/2010

Used a custom roll to get them up and running, based on the dmx info that was sent with the fixtures, but it does not allow any effects engine, so I have 4 or 5 sliders as just a soft patch im not infront of the pc at the moment, but the problem is RGB is not RGB its RBG so all of the templates are RGB LOL

im not sure micks link is relevant, its more for fixtures that have multiple cells of RGB and then a master controller..it seems that these fixtures just have 2 parameters of dimmer and strobe speed or something...that can be added to the template along with a RGB colour mix dimmer and still gain access to all the effects engines.
what template did you use for your units, did you 'roll' it yourself? or is it one of the existing LED par cans in there?
sound suspiciously like the parameters are set wrong for the template...what are you seeing while trying to control them?
Many manufactures produce light battens that have a group of master control channels and consecutive RGB channels in 3 channels groups. These fixtures might have 4, 8, 16 or any number of RGB groups. How should you create a template for these fixtures?

The best practice is to define the Master Control channels as a seperate fixture within Artist. The ShowCAD Template file contains many of these Master Control group templates for various fixtures. You can then use the Simple Types/Colour Mix Dimmer template for the RGB groups. For example, if you have 16 x RGB battens with 16 RGB groups in each you will then create a Fixture group with 16 Master Control Fixtures and a Fixture group with 256 Colour Mix Dimmer fixtures.

The reason for this is that is gives you maximum use of the Effect generator in Artist since the Master control channels are defined in another fixture group. Now when you go to the RGB Fixture Group the effects will give you all the powerful effects you were hoping for.
