![]() ShowCAD Artist has been chosen as the lighting control system for the exterior feature lighting in the first phase of the Bahrain Financial Harbour project. We also have the honour of designing and supplying the extensive distributed DMX system network and control computer. The artist's 3D render (above) gives a good idea of the extent of the project when completed. The Artist system controls lighting on the two (largest) East and West Towers, the Financial Centre that nestles between them and the Harbour House. The lighting contract was won after a tough tender battle by John Lethbridge of Cereco International, the Middle East representative of Pulsar Light of Cambridge. ![]() The lighting fixtures installed on the exterior of the two towers, the Financial Centre
and the Harbour House consist of 1788 of Pulsar's L1 ChromaStrip2's and 20 of their extremely powerful L3 ChromaFlood 200's, requiring over 8000
DMX control channels. The control computer is one of our ruggedised 4U units with a RAID array and redundant power supplies for speedy fail-over should it ever be required. Because the ShowCAD Artist control system is situated in the
Financial Centre, data transmission distances to the towers and Harbour
House are considerable, so fibre-optic data transmission lines are
employed. The fibre-optic interfaces then communicate over standard CAT5 with PathPort Ethernet/DMX interfaces, which
subsequently output DMX to the Pulsar Chromazones on each floor. Read an
Installation Europe article on the installation.
