ShowCAD Artist is a Microsoft
Windows based show control software package for controlling lighting and
other entertainment and environmental devices.
The software will operate on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Artist 2
Artist 2 requires only basic graphics capabilities. The table below
offers guidelines for 3 different sized installation.

Extras

| DVD RW drive |
a DVD ROM is pretty much standard on PCs now but
a DVD RW drive will give you the ability to backup your work. |
| Extra USB ports |
these can provide a useful means to add other
devices to you computer e.g., printer, MIDI ports, serial ports,
keyboard, mouse, data acquisition devices, external sound device
etc. |
| Extra network port |
this can allow you to have separate networks -
one for DMX data and the other for local intranet or Internet
connection. |
| RAID HDDs |
RAID drive in shadow mode allows you to have 2
hard drives with the same data on them providing a seamless
backup. |
| Dual Head graphics |
A dual head graphics card will allow you to have
one monitor for the main application user interface and a second
touch monitor for the operator screen. |
| Quality sound adapter |
If you are using sound playback from within
Artist, you should upgrade any on board sound adapter to a PCI
card for better quality. |
| External sound device |
An external sound device can provide sound output
to multiple zones. |
Please be advised that although
there is nothing to stop you sourcing DMX hardware from other companies,
and in such cases we will still sell and licence you our software, we
strongly advise against this. Artist will only output with certain
devices and we also can take no responsibility for DMX transmission
problems if hardware is not purchased from ourselves.
